Road Trip

YES, IT'S TRUE... WE ARE HOME IN UTAH!!! Unfortunately Florida didn't work out for us, so we packed up our things and hit the road with an almost 7 month old baby (YIKES!) We drove from Florida to Utah and McKensie did awesome! She was a good little traveler and even though she was getting sick of her car seat she didn't complain too much.

On the way home we stopped and stayed the first night in Orlando with Aunt Amy

Amy and Chuck with the Giant Duck (Amy is obsessed with this duck!)

After visiting Amy we hit the road. We left Orlando Friday morning and got back Monday at 2:30pm.

We stopped and had lunch in some state... can't remember which one :-)

We all took turns driving

(actually, Brett loves to drive so I didn't even get a turn! He drove the whole way... despite my protests!)

We stopped in Nebraska at the Lewis and Clark Center where we took a break and had lunch. There was a museum there but we didn't stay long cuz we wanted to get back on the road.

The Everglades

As many of you know, Florida didn't work out for us so we came back to Utah. But before we left we went to the Everglades. It was amazing! We went on a fan boat ride and took a scenic drive on "Loop Road" where we saw LOTS of alligators and even almost made gator road kill! It was amazing there and one day I would love to go back.

Summer Fun

Hello Everyone!!!

We have a lot of fun at the pool at our apartments

Drying off after swimming, she was exhausted

This is Kensie's favorite sleeping position and favorite blanket (the pink one). When she was born the nurse showed us how to make a "wedge" out of it so she wouldn't role, and she has been sleeping with it ever since. I tried taking it away a couple of weeks ago and she got very upset. She likes to snuggle into it and hold it up against her face. Thanks for the blanket Grammy, she loves it!

Yum, yum, yum!

We have been living in Fort Myers

Florida!

Well, I would first like to thank my wonderful sister Amy for making my blog all cute. I love it and she did a great job, thanks Amy!
So far my posts have been in order of our life events, but from now on I am just gonna post randomly as I feel like it. I know that you are all curious as to what has been going on in our lives since we moved to Florida. We have been here a week, and honestly, I have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, it has been fabulous! After this past school year I feel like I deserve a break and do nothing but be a mom. I love it. Besides nothing, we have gone to Walmart twice (sorry Scott), gone on a walk around our apartments that has 1,000 or so units (it took 45 minutes, but I was going slow), played in the pool, watched TV, played with toys, and changed lots of diapers.

Last Sunday McKensie had her first solid food. It was tons of fun! She didn't know what to think at first but by the end of the meal she was getting pretty good at it. Yum, yum, yum, gotta love that rice cereal. I have a video of McKensie eating her first solid food and I will post it as soon as I get the cord I need to connect the computer to the camera. But that will have to wait until we get the $ for it, sorry guys. After about five days she had banana's. Her face was hilarious the first bite as if saying, "what is this stuff???". After a few bites she decided she liked it and was opening her mouth wide for more.

Brett has been here for about four weeks and is working hard. He works Monday through Saturday so he hardly has any fee time. For those of you who don't know, he is working for a company call APX selling home alarm systems. It is a really tuff job but he is doing well, and it definitely keeps him busy. He took last Monday off of work for his birthday and to show me around. We went to the beach, we didn't get in the water or anything but we got the stroller out and just walked around looking at everything, it is beautiful here.
Playing with Daddy after three whole weeks of being apart. The first thing Brett said when he saw her was that she was huge. We can't decide if she remembered him or not, but Brett was just happy that she didn't cry when she saw him.

Kensie playing with her toys

Well Aunt Amy, I am sorry to say it, but you have been replaced. You are no long the only person in Kensie's life that can get her to laugh hysterically. This is Kensie's new best friend, Kimberley. She came to visit us the other night and from the moment Kensie saw her she started smiling and laughing. They had a lot of fun together.

The Giant Duck:

Up until now I have bathed Kensie in the kitchen sink. Our sink at this apartment however doesn't work that well. I didn't want to put Kensie in the real bath tub yet for many reasons and so we got this cute giant duck for bath time. She LOVES it and and plays like crazy each night during her bath.

McKensie Ann Stout

McKensie Ann Stout
October 30th 2007
7:01pm
7 lb 12 oz & 20 in

The morning of October 30th I woke at 6:00am thinking that I needed to go to the bathroom, when I got up a realized that my water had broken (I think that a contraction is really what woke me). So, instead of going to school like I was scheduled to, I went next door to the University Hospital in the Labor and Delivery unit instead. When we checked into the hospital I was told by everyone that my delivery wasn't going very fast and that, "You will have a Halloween baby for sure". After 13 hours, vacuum, and forceps McKensie Ann Stout came into this world. McKensie showed them, and I must say I was relieved that her birthday would not be Halloween day. She was beautiful and Brett and I couldn't have been happier.

We took McKensie home on November 2nd

McKensie was a little jaundice so we had to get these portable light to put her under, it was so sad!

The Beginning

Yes it is true, after many requests we have finally started a blog. Before I discuss that cute little person that everyone wants to know about (and the only reason you are reading my blog), it seems only right to start at the beginning, so here it is:

Brett and I met through his sister Kristen (my good friend) and started dating in September of 2003 and married a year later in the LDS Salt Lake City temple. I will spare you the details of our romance, but lets just say Brett put up with a lot from me and although he got rejected the first time he tried to kiss me, luckily he didn't give up.

Since that time we have kept busy and traveled to Orlando (twice), New York, Mexico (on a cruise), Hong Kong, Korea, Hawaii, San Diego, and many camping trips. We love to travel if you can't tell. On October 30, 2007 at 7:01 pm, we welcomed McKensie Ann Stout into our family. She is definitely the greatest blessing we have ever received.
So that is our life in a nut shell up until now, not too exciting, but we've enjoyed it.
