Weddings, Weddings!

Congrats to Kim and Jonathon

The beginning of this month was full of weddings for me. On August 1st I dropped McKensie off at my grandma's house and went to the wedding of my friend Kim at the Salt Lake Temple. I was lucky enough to attend the Temple sealing, the spirit was so strong. I am so happy for her and her new husband, and wish them the best.

Congrats to Bryce and Jennifer
On August 5th I went to the Temple sealing of my cousin Bryce, also at the Salt Lake Temple. This too was amazing, and I am so happy that they made the important decision to marry in the Temple. I am so happy for you and wish you the best as well!

Although there are many people in this world, and even in my own family for that matter, who do not understand why us "Mormon's" do the things we do; I would just like to say that without this Gospel in my life I would not be the woman I am today. I, like everyone else in this church had to find out for myself whether or not it was true. I love the gospel, and have found through out my life that it's teachings are the only way to eternal happiness. Being there for these weddings helps me remember the covenants I have made. I love the fact that I am sealed to Brett and McKensie, and that we will be together forever.

25 Days

I am sad to say that I only have twenty-five days left before I go back to school. I admit that it makes me sad and the very thought of leaving McKensie... well, we won't go there right now. I am only going to think happy thoughts and make the best of the rest of the summer.


Things I want to do still:

• Go boating at Pineview at least twice: dad... I need your help with this :-)
• Go to the Zoo with Kensie
• Study: YIKES... I know that this shouldn't be aloud on my fun summer list, but if I want to pass my boards next year I have to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!
• Play with friends and family (because I won't see them once school, textbooks, and clinicals set in)
• Enjoy being a mom and have lots of fun with McKensie!

So far this summer we have had a lot of fun as you can tell by my previous posts. Other things we have done that I haven't told you about yet include:

Layton High School Friend Party: In June I had a party with several of my friends from high school. We had fun, but it was unlike any party we have had before with toddlers and babies all over the place :-) It was a blast. I loved seeing all my friends, especially Lanaiah who was visiting from Hawaii where she has lived the past few years (So we haven't seen her a whole lot as you can imagine). We have officially been graduated for five years, I am assuming we aren't having a five year reunion... does any one know why?

Spa Day: My mom celebrated her 39th ;-) birthday on July 16th and for a present from my sister Amy she sent both my mom AND me to a day spa for massages and pedicures. It was AMAZING!!! Thank you Amy!

Real Soccer Game: As you know, we have season tickets to Real. Since Kensie's seizures started however, I stopped going to the games and stayed home with Kensie because they always went past her bedtime which made it too hard with her drugs that make her so tired. On July 23rd however, I attempted to bring her to another game which had fireworks afterward for Pioneer Day. Kensie did very well and slept through the second half of the game. She woke up just in time to see fireworks for the very first time. She loved them! She wasn't scared at all and would point and wave to the fireworks. With the attention span of a baby however she would loose interest every now and then until there was a big bright one and then she would point and watch some more. By the finale she was exhausted and layed quietly in my arms with tired eyes just staring at the fireworks.

Hanging out with the family: As many of you know, we are living with my in laws. Here we are barbecuing one Sunday evening.

Summer Time

UPDATES!
I want to thank every one for all of your concerns and prayers regarding McKensie. There is not a lot of news yet as to what is wrong. We are in the process of getting tests done, so there are still no answers. Last Monday she had an EEG and everything is normal. She has an MRI scheduled this Thursday. Some good news is that ever since McKensie started the medicine she has not had another episode! We are very grateful for that, and although she is tired and irritable a lot (from the medicine), at least she is seizure free.

FUN IN THE SUN:
On Brett's day off a couple of weeks ago we went fore wheeling up Farmington Canyon. We took turns watching Kensie and Baily while the others were riding. McKensie loved the dirt and tried to eat the rocks while Brett loved racing around on the fore wheeler and trying to splash me by going through huge puddles.

Last Tuesday McKensie, Bailey, and I had a picnic in the park with my mom and Kristen. Afterward we came home and filled up Kensie's cute elephant kiddie pool and played. McKensie loved it and splashed like crazy. I will admit it is a down grade from our pool in Florida :-) but oh well, it was still a lot of fun.

Prayers for Kensie

For those of you who do not know, Kensie has been having some unexplained seizures lately. She has had about five of them and they are getting progressively worse and more frequent. We took her to the ER last Saturday and they did a CT scan, EKG, and a blood test and they all came back normal. Because we could not confirm these "episodes" as seizures yet they did not put her on medicine at that time. We made an appointment with a neurologist at Primary Children's Hospital for Monday. Unfortunately however, this Wednesday she had a full tonic clonic seizure. Because of the holiday we could not get in to the neurologist sooner, but her pediatrician did look at her and put her on some medicine. This medicine makes her very tired and irritable, but it should help. We ask you to keep her in your prayers and hopefully we can get some answers on Monday. I will let you know how the appointment with the neurologist goes. Thanks for all your love and support.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

Today was a lot of fun for the Stout family. We had a KFC picnic with my dad, step mom, and mother. and then met up with my Aunt, Uncle, cousins, and Grandma at the Layton park and played. We did not want to keep Kensie out past her bedtime and stress her little body out more than it already is (I will explain in my next post) and so we left in time to get her to bed. So although we did not enjoy the tradition of fireworks, it was nice to get to see everyone. Oh, and I would like to thank Google for finding the lovely firework picture I have shown above, considering I have not seen any fireworks to take pictures of... but it makes my page rather festive, don't ya think?

Over all I think Kensie had a good first Fourth of July, it would have been better if she wasn't filled with medicine (again, I will explain in my next post), but we had fun. Oh and Amy, it wasn't the same with out you! I hope you had fun on your favorite holiday.
